- Humble beginning

Born on September 3, 1971 into the humble home of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonsus Ubah, both teachers from Otollo village in Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria’s industrial nerve centre, Dr. Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah, the first son of his parents, concerned about his parents’ burden of training him and his siblings in school, had to sacrifice his academic pursuit at Okongwu Memorial Grammar School, Nnewi, to learn a business primarily to alleviate his family’s suffering. A painful decision though that was, especially for his father who watched helplessly as his son turned his back on education and embraced an unknown future, Ifeanyi journeyed to Enu-Owa, in the bustling Idumota market in Lagos. On arrival at Isale-Eko, (Lagos island) he was quick to entrench himself in the fast paced life in Lagos as he embedded himself in his new environment and business with quiet optimism. With a single minded focus, young Ifeanyi deployed his brilliance to learning the secret of tyre business. It was time to take his destiny in his hands and make his parents proud. That was the least he could do to assuage his father’s broken heart. His nimble mind was soon to master the business secrets and by the time he was 17, he was ready to venture into the risky world of business alone. He says about his adventure: “By the time I was 17 years, I was already aiming for my own independent business and started flying out of Nigeria with goods. I would export goods to places like Bamako, Mali and Ghana. I ended up in Ghana. I was among very few Nigerians that was doing major tyre business and exporting goods to other African countries.”

That wealth found him as a teen seemed to suggest that Ifeanyi burst out of his mother’s womb with enterprise in

his DNA. Everything he touched turned to gold.

Love him, hate him, Ifeanyi is neither given to distractions nor hallelujah chanters. His vast businesses, spread across Africa and Western world, are more than enough to take up all his precious time. His trained nose to smell big money out of bare sand keeps his businesses on the upward scale.

As a frequent traveller, Providence brought him and Captain of Kotoka International Airport Ghana, Capt. R.O Sarkin, together and through him he bought his first car at the early age of 18. By 21, Ifeanyi had built houses at Nnewi, his home town, Lagos, Congo, South Africa and Ghana; gotten married to his heartthrob, Uchenna, a Business Administration graduate; a union that is blessed with five adorable children. Says Ifeanyi of his early marriage: “That was one of the happiest moments of my life. We wedded at Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Lagos. We were among the first few people to use the hall which we paid about N120, 000, a record amount then for hiring a wedding hall.”

Ifeanyi is overjoyed that he didn’t just make his parents proud but they are alive to enjoy their son’s massive wealth.

Bustling with youthful energy, there is no limit to what Ifeanyi could dream up or achieve. As an ultra-marathon racer, he lives with a redefined uncertainty while dismantling crucible of obstacles to build thriving businesses with imprints across the globe. Ifeanyi is imbued with this excitement and belief.

His energy is fueled by a passion; an intrinsic drive to change his world and make life easier, better, and more beautiful gets him through the tough times. He has a natural curiosity that identifies overlooked niches and puts them at the forefront of innovation and emerging fields, his major success key. Said Hon. Ben Chuks Nwosu, his close associate,
