Mimiko Inaugurates Akure Shoprite Today

Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko will today inaugurate the Shoprite component of the Akura Shopping Mall. The shopping mall located within the premises of the old Owena Motel on Igbatoro Road, at the outskirts of the state capital, was built under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative. The partnership is between the Ondo State Government and Top Services Ltd. Speaking on the programme, the Coordinator of PPP, Ondo State, Prince Adenekan Oateru- Olagbegi said the mall would bring a lot of benefits to the state. According to him, the facilities which when completed will house five movie sections, lounge, food section and other relaxation and recreation centres, would raise the Internally Generated Revenue of the state. He also said no less than 1000 employment would be generated just as it would create markets for goods and services, particularly agricultural products of the state. The coordinator also said the mall would also lead to the elevation of night life of the New Downtown area being created in the state capital. He said other components of the mall would be completed within the next two months.
