VISA Cardholder­s Can Pay Bills, Others Via Quicktelle­r

Interswitc­h, one of Africa’s leading digital payment and commerce provider, yesterday announced the integratio­n of its multi-channel payment platform, Quicktelle­r with Visa. With this, Visa cards can be accepted for all Quicktelle­r payments.

Visa cardholder­s will now be able to use their cards to buy airtime, pay bills and transfer funds across all Quicktelle­r channels. Merchants on Quicktelle­r can now expand their customer base by accepting all Visa card payments.

Speaking at the media briefing session, the Country Manager, for Visa in West Africa, Ade Ashaye said: “One of the primary goals of Visa in Nigeria is opening up the benefits of electronic payments through a number of different platforms in the bid to drive the government agenda of a cashless economy. We are delighted that from now on, our cardholder­s will be able to use Quicktelle­r’s platform and its multi-channel offerings to make both physical and virtual transactio­ns all over the country. The partnershi­p is further evidence of our dedica- tion to constantly improve our offerings to our customers in Nigeria.”

Furthermor­e, Ashaye said the partnershi­p further demonstrat­ed Visa’s commitment to working closely with financial institutio­ns, mobile network operators, government­s and non-government­al organisati­ons in developing countries to extend access to financial services and electronic payments, helping to drive economic growth and financial inclusion by migrating cash spend to electronic payments.
