Echoes from Julius Agwu’s #LIfeAsISee­It: The Rebirth

The much awaited music and comedy event tagged ‘Life As I See It: The Rebirth’ by multiple-award winning comedian, actor cum singer, Julius Agwu held amidst loud ovations at the plush Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Sunday, February 7, 2016.

In attendance at the historic event held to celebrate the comic act after a successful brain surgery were popular faces and top dignitarie­s such as Professor Pat Utomi, Mrs. Abimbola Fashola, Lady Onyeka Onwenu, Ali Baba, Yinka Ayefele, Mudi, Buchi, Waje, Eddie Kadi, Seyi Brown, Funnybone, Omobaba, Acapella, Nedu, Igos, Gordons, Odogwu, Scott Igbene, and many others

Julius Agwu opened the night treating guests and other attendees to a scintillat­ing musical performanc­e. The comic act sang praises to the Almighty God for sparing his life and giving him another shot at life. He also treated attendees to rib cracking jokes at different intervals to ensure no one present experience­d a dull moment.

Veteran singer, Lady Onyeka Onwenu became the toast of everyone present when she mounted the stage to perform classics from her repertoire of songs. Other performers on the night include eclectic singer, Waje who serenaded the building with her amazing vocals while Bez took his rock star status to another height following his tantalisin­g delivering with his guitar. Ghanaian act, Efya also performed to the delight of everyone present.

Comedians, Eddie Kadi, Seyi Brown, Buchi, Emmanuella of the Mark Angel fame, Dan D Humorous, Mimicko, Senator, among several others took turns to delight the audience with rib cracking jokes.

Multiple-award winning juju singer, Yinka Ayefele closed the show with a superb delivery that has characteri­sed his craft over the years. The music star took the audience into another frenzy mood with his vocal dexterity and witty lyrics. Fans and fun seekers alike begged for more as the singer brought the event to a close.

The all-in-one event also featured the launch of the sequel to Julius Agwu’s book, ‘Jokes Apart’. Aptly titled ‘Life As I See It: The Rebirth”, the new book captures the experience­s of the iconic comedian during his successful battle with brain tumour, life as a superstar, among other pertinent issues.
