Why Relationships Fail (2)
Just last month, the world was greeted with the news of Mariah Carey’s engagement to Australian billionaire James Parker which should be her fourth relationship in the last two decades. Another Aussie billionaire Rupert Murdoch who has been married three times got engaged to his model girl friend, Jerry Hall. Back home break ups by celebrity figures like Wizkid and Ice Prince, garnished gossip columns in the last two weeks. Relationships fail for different reasons over fifty per cent of which are tied to avoidable etiquette lapses. Last week, I started this series on why relationships fail and I did say I was going to fill it with real life examples of people who have been in failed relationships highlighting the lapses that led to the failure in those relationships. Without further ado I’ll let these stories speak for themselves.
I was in a relationship with a lady and after a while she got to know of my net worth but soon after she started being subservient. She would agree to everything I said as thought she did not have a mind of her own. I soon came to terms with the conclusion that her knowledge of my net worth was the reason for this and soon after, I called it quits.

I once dated a guy who I eventually broke up with because I felt he was aggressive. I was trying to tell him of one or two things I thought he should change, he would say things like, Don’t worry I already know what your problem is”, then, he would constantly give excuses when I did mention things I was not ok with and would repeat the same thing over again. Even when it was time for me to break up with him, I simply told him I would like to bring the relationship to an end and that I wish him all the best only for him to blurt out “Yes I would find the best for me.”

I had a girlfriend that was always felt irritated whenever she saw me around the opposite sex. I am a singer and a dancer by occupation and my job necessitates my working with women on a constant basis. Whenever I had an audition, she would insist on being at the audition and after a while she started getting aggressive towards women she found around me. On one occasion, she even cut an innocent girl with a blade and I was eventually arrested for that act and needless to say I did eventually break up with her.

I was in a relationship that eventually did not work out because I felt this guy eventually started taking me for granted. It all started when I told him I had a child from an earlier relationship. I noticed afterwards that his attitude then changed. He was no longer caring, polite or even considerate. Things grinded to a halt when I would go to his house only to meet another woman and even after questioning him, he would brush it off with a rude remark.
