Act in Good Conscience, Ashade Urges Civil Servants

The Lagos State Commission­er for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Akinyemi Ashade has urged civil servants to always act profession­ally, in good conscience and diligently.

A statement quoted Ashade to have made the call at the annual retreat of the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget holding at Lekki.

Ashade opined that the theme of the retreat “Managing Reforms in an Organisati­on; Structure, Processes & Strategies” was very timely. He added that with the new administra­tion, quite a lot of reforms will be coming up and urged participan­ts to be prepared to receive, evaluate and implement them.

Speaking further, he said “please note that for every file that is before you, the social and economic wellbeing of Lagosians are attached. Therefore, you may never know who your delayed action or inaction may affect negatively.”

The Commission­er admon- ished participan­ts as members of the management team to be punctual, dutiful, adhere to due process, prudent and embrace team work in order to record greater performanc­e.

He noted that the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget was very strategic to the success of the Lagos Project and advised that as the think tank of the Lagos State Government on the economy, the ministry must be in tune with the present state of the economy in the country nay the world.
