THE OTHER SIDE OF MANY A NIGERIAN BANK CEOS

-

Some bank chief executives try so hard to develop a lifestyle that would never request their presence. Some would attend every party as a measure of courtesy but having gotten there, fade indistinctly into the background like some yellow butterflies on a sallow wall. But some become the soul of the party and that is what separates them from others. Gaiety is the most outstanding feature of this latter lot. Unlike many other bank MDs and CEOs of financial institutions, they endeavour to loosen themselves and have undiluted fun, thus dismissing the notion that top bankers and bank bosses can never take time away from their hectic schedules to unwind. A visit to town will amuse you. Stroll into any high octane show or high society shindig and you would be astounded to see many bank MDs supposedly prim and proper rocking the party and having the time of their lives. Even though they are unarguably the pillars responsible for the survival of the financial sector, these bank CEOs have learnt to work hard and party hard. By the same gusto and doggedness of spirit by which they cultivate the nation’s financial sector, they play hard and groove hard with often wild and scrupulous abandon. They live on the edge and engage in exploits that even certified daredevil freaks wouldn’t dare. And what’s their modus operandi? They frequent high profile night clubs, land and sea race tracks, polo turfs, golf clubs, celebrity hang outs and exclusive gentlemen and leisure clubs. There, in the company of like minds, they deploy their stupendous wealth wildly and adventurously in pursuit of unparalleled highs and fun.
