his newfound love, Maryam Mairo Mustapha, his first wife, Mariya Tambuwal is heartbroken and unhappy with his decision to take her as a second wife. Mariya, like most women, is miserable over her husband’s decision to marry Mairo as his trophy wife. Happiness is not an ideal of reason but of imagination, many a philosopher would tirelessly contend, but to Mairo, happiness is Aminu. Further findings revealed that Governor Tambuwal decided to marry Mairo, an IT expert, because he needed a woman that’s ravishing and active to serve as his first lady. It would be recalled that Governor Tambuwal was hardly seen in company of his first wife even while he served as a member and Speaker of the House of Representatives. While his colleagues attended social functions, with their wives, Tambuwal arrived alone at such events.
But as executive governor of Sokoto, Tambuwal needs a very active first lady. But unlike his colleague, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, who travelled abroad to get himself a wife, Tambuwal decided to go for one of his girls. Already, the lovers are in Saudi Arabia to perform Lesser Hajj. They are expected to be back in the coming week. The wedding invitations sent out by the couple to close friends and associates indicate that the wedding proper comes up between February 19 and 21, in Kano, Abuja and Sokoto. Tambuwal and his new wife met a few years ago, during the period he served as Speaker of the House of Representatives.
