Unyielding and rigidly detached like a walkway of screed stone, Kanu Nwankwo, the former Super Eagle star, may have called it quits with his former friend Ayo GamIkon. Even bosom friends become best of friends; in the name of profit. Oftentimes, thousands who could have overcome the darkness, for the love of a lousy buck become sworn enemies. Whatever reason is adduced for their fallout, it is the sweet simplicity of the three percents that causes bitter hatred between two friends. If the reports are worth a smidgen of trust, then the chord holding the friendship between Kanu Nwankwo and his partner, Ayo Gam- Ikon, has collapsed. Without a doubt, Nigeria’s most decorated soccer star has allegedly taken a big decision to part ways with his friend and long standing business partner a while ago. It is a surprise that their once rosy fellowship that flowed effortlessly like a stream has allegedly become as turbulent as a volcano. Kanu has now been sued for N1 billion by his former business partner, Gam- Ikon. They had been joint owners of the Hardley suites, until Gam- Ikon was arrested and charged to court in 2013 for defrauding the business of about N1.4 billion. Gam- Ikon was discharged and cleared of all charges on the 30th of July, 2015, and he is now suing the former Arsenal player for malicious prosecution. He claims “to have lost valuable time and years of his prime life attending court and facing trial,” and is seeking the sum of N1 billion in damages.
