Airtel Donates Items to School
Airtel Nigeria has donated items including school uniforms, bags and exercise books to students of Presbyterian Primary School, Ediba in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The items were donated recently as part of the telecoms company’s support to its adopted schools across Nigeria every year.
While making the presentation, the Zonal Business Manager of Airtel in the state, Mr. Edwin Nwoke, said the gesture was an empowerment platform aimed at developing education in Nigeria.
Nwoke, who represented the Regional Operations Director, South Region, Veronica Onoja, said the telco would continue to be passionate about education and would remain committed to supporting disadvantaged and underprivileged children in Nigeria.
He said: “Airtel Nigeria is passionate about primary education just as we are committed to the development of disadvantaged and underprivileged children. Our gesture underscores our commitment to offering practical relief, succour, hope and opportunities to children. This donation and indeed our ‘Adopt a School Programme’ aligns with our overall vision of connecting Nigerians to their dreams. We believe that quality education offers a gateway to a better life, as it is an empowerment platform that cannot be overemphasized.”
Onoja thanked the community and the entire staff of the school for choosing to partner with Airtel in building the future of tomorrow.
The Head Teacher of the school, Mrs. Maria Etaike, commended Airtel for coming to relieve the community members of some responsibilities to the children.
