Clinton’O Returns with New Single, Story

- Clinton 'O

Following a brief hiatus from the Nigerian music industry, budding artiste, Clinton Adewale Ajose, better known as Clinton’O has returned with a new single, Story. According to the UK-based artiste, his return is fuelled by a desire to concentrate on furthering his music career.

Backed by Cool Records, Clinton’O describes his style of music as The Afro R&Blues, a genre which reflects in the new track. Story, also the title of his debut album, which features Nigerian super producer, Coublon, follows the sojourn of the young artiste from his childhood days in the streets of Lagos to doing music in faraway Manchester.

“I enjoyed working with Coublon. I really think he will be the one to cement and solidify my sound. I believe the key influence in my music was derived from my childhood environment of Shita, Surulere where I grew up with my two siblings. That era exposed me to Fuji music. Every other day, it was King Ayinde Wasiu. I didn’t know it at the time, but I do now,” he said. He also revealed that collaborators on the Story album project are Leeds and Manchester-based producer, Victor Oyewole and Solid Sound among others who will be credited upon the completion of the project. Aside music, the multitalented entertainer is also a painter and a footballer. “I’ve done a couple of things I am proud of. From putting together an exhibition to playing for The University of Bolton football team but when you come of a certain age you, know what’s yours and what’s not. I’ll always remain a visual artist that’s a part of my creativity that needs to be expressed but I’ll be hanging my boots and picking up the mic,” he added. His previously released singles include the club banger, Something Else.
