DJAN Lifts Ban on Terry G’s Music
Deejay’s Association Nigeria (DJAN) has lifted the embargo it placed on all Terry G’s songs some weeks ago.
On Saturday June 5, 2016, Terry G reportedly slapped DJ Jimmy Jatt’s protege, DJ Phriz who was holding down for the respected and veteran DJ at a comedy show that held at the Shell Hall of Muson Centre, Lagos. The 'Free Madness' crooner however later tendered an open apology to DJ Jimmy Jatt and all DJ’s regarding the ugly incident.
Terry G’s immoral manners greatly infuriated the DJs and his music collec- tions were subsequently banned by their association, barring all DJs around the country from playing his songs and also demanded a public apology from him.
The body released a statement that reads "The National Executives of the DJs Association of Nigeria (DJAN) humbly appreciate the support and cooperation of Nigeria DJs for full participation on said subject, we are most grateful for acknowledging the fact that ‘an injury to one is injury to all’, One Beat… One Voice”.
According to the association, the ban has now been lifted. “Terry G has shown a very reasonable level of remorse and had apologised to all parties concerned including apologising to the leadership of the association at all levels. After due consultations and deliberations, the Deejays Association of Nigeria hereby lifts the embargo on all songs of Terry G (including songs he featured in).”
The street hop singer in the midst of all his troubles with Nigerian DJs has released two singles, 'Oba ogo' and 'Olorun tobi' which he dedicated to God.
