Mrs. Onoh, Bianca Ojukwu’s Mother Dies at 81, Ugwuanyi Mourns

Wife of the late Chief Christian Onof, a former Governor of old Anambra State, Mrs. Caroline Onoh, is dead.

Onoh who was also the mother-in-law of the late Dim Chukwuemek­a Odumegwu Ojukwu, was aged 81.

The second son of the late former Governor, Dr. Ken Onoh, who confirmed his mother’s death said she died on Tuesday at the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (ESUTH) after a brief illness.

In his condolence message, Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, described the death of Onoh, as a great loss to the government and people of the state.

According to a release by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Uwakwe Abugu, the governor is saddened by the departure of the matriarch of the Onoh family of Ngwo at this critical period in the history of the nation when the wise counsel of elders are needed to give the country the desired direction.

Governor Ugwuanyi condoled with the immediate family of the woman leader and devout Christian as well as the people of Ngwo. He urged them to bear the loss with fortitude.

The late Mrs. Onoh was the mother of Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu.
