CIBN Holds Conference
The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has concluded arrangements to hold its 10 th banking and finance conference between September 6th and 8th 2016. The conference is expected to hold in Abuja. According to a statement, the conference has become the flagship event of the Institute, hosted annually to provide a platform for all stakeholders: policy makers, regulators, operators and clients in the financial services industry to share experiences and exchange ideas on contemporary issues affecting the sector and the economy as a whole.The conference with the theme “Innovation in the Financial Services Industry: Driving Nigeria’s New Economy,” it added, was deliberately designed to further support the financial industry with new and current initiatives and strategies. President Mu ham ma du B uh ari will be the guest of honour, while the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele will deliver the keynote address. Participants who are expected from all the sectors of the economy will have the opportunity to deliberate on the key sub-themes of the conference such as: top ten imports and innovative strategies for substitution; innovative financing structures for micro, small and medium scale enterprises; payments system and financial inclusion; and electronic commerce: role in disrupting modern trade and channels. The President/ Chairman of Council, Professor Segun Ajibola will be the Chief Host at the event.
