“I came out that day around 2a.m. looking for any house to rob. I spotted the building, I was attracted to it by its big gate.

“I entered the compound by jumping over the fence, but unfortunately I landed on top of some empty plastic creates stacked by the side of the fence.

“It was the noise made by the fallen creates that woke the man and his driver up. I sighted the man coming out of the house from the back door, I quickly docked behind the crates.

“I was thinking that he will go back but on the contrary, he came towards where I was hiding. I grabbed hold of him in the dark and we started struggling. I had a knife and I stabbed him on his hand.

“I thought he will let go, rather he held on to me tight. He was very strong and we continued to struggle. I stabbed him the second time, but he still held me down.

“At this point, a second man emerged from behind the crate and grabbed me. The two of them tied my hands and legs with a rope. The man later fell on the ground. I thought that he fainted.”
