Law School 1991 Class Rolls Out the Drums at 25

25 years after being called to the Bar as Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, the Nigerian Law School, Class of 1991 came up with well thought out series of activities to celebrate the milestone event.

Last Friday members of the class who came from different parts of the country for the Silver Jubilee celebratio­n, kicked off the programme with a mentoring and interactiv­e session moderated by the Secretary of the forum, Mr. Alex Muoka, with students of the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, where they graduated from 25 years ago.

This was followed by a cocktail with the Law School students in the afternoon, while the main event of the day, the Dinner and Awards, took place at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos.

They adopted a poetic theme for the event, ‘Nigerian Law School Class 91, Our Talking Beginnings: 25 Years On..... History Meets the Future'.

In an exclusive chat with THISDAY LAWYER, Chairman of the class, Mr. J.S. Okutepa SAN said "The success of our class is dedication to the practice of law. I have never wondered into other fields of endeavour".

"The students we were speaking to today should remain focused, eliminate fear, even in the face of the obstacles. The road may be tough and rough, but with determinat­ion and dedication they will get there and this is my message to them."
