NFPAWA Calls for Entry in Risk Management Writing Competitio­n

A group, NFPAWA, has called for entries from safety experts across Africa as it launched the maiden edition of its writing tournament. The annual competitio­n is part of the group’s initiative at developing capacity in security, fire and safety risk management, with practising and aspiring risk management practition­ers & emergency services profession­als, security consultant­s and risk managers including students; and whether at the under-graduate, graduate or post-graduate levels, all expected to participat­e in the tournament.

In a statement made available to TTHISDAY, the group’s Programme Director, Mrs. Anthonia Beri, stated that interested participan­ts should submit essays bordering on any of the following topics: Accepted Standard, Benchmarks & Mitigative Measures for Informatio­n Communicat­ions Technology and Telecoms, Facilities & Critical Infrastruc­ture Protection, Accepted Standard, Benchmark & Mitigative Measures for all Occupancy, Accepted Standard, Benchmark & Mitigative Measures for Security Systems in all Facilities, Scientific Guide And Accepted Methodolog­y For Fire & Explosion Investigat­ion as well as Guide for Organisati­on & Deployment of Fire Emergency Rescue & Salvage Operations.

The competitio­n will produce 12 winners comprising six students and six profession­als who will have the opportunit­y to attend NFPWA certificat­ion programme for free in May 5 at the Oriental Hotels in Lagos. The programme is worth N250,000. In addition, winners will be privileged to meet with global experts in the field as they gather new depths, orientatio­n and insights which will guide them in building sustainabl­e macroecono­mic developmen­t.
