August Leadership Lecture
An initiative, The August Leadership Lecture, aimed at entrenching leadership qualities within the ranks of public officials at different levels of governance, with focus on local government chairmen in recognition of the importance of the sector to nation building, is to hold its maiden edi- tion soon. The lecture, according to the convener, Ekene Igwekile, will place particular emphasis on evidence based leadership strategy and explore the concept of leadership excellence in an individual and organisation al context. It will also examine the behaviour st hat underpin leadership excellence and the implications of those behaviour son states and national leadership while also building the discussion around challenges of leadership in the country.
Keynote presentations at the lecture will provide insights into proven and innovative approaches to leadership by past and present accomplished leaders in the public sector while corporate sector lead--
ers will share their leadership development strategies that has enabled them attain great heights in the private sector.
Meanwhile, the event will also witness the public presentation of a book written by Igwek ilea nd titled ‘36 Years in the Political Arena: An Appraisal ’, which documents the life of Chief Tony An enih in public service.
