Globacom-sponsored Professor Johnbull Preaches Acceptable Family Lifestyle

-

This week’s edition of the popular TV Drama Series, Professor Johnbull, sponsored by telecommunications giant, Globacom, is devoted to promoting acceptable family life style.

The episode, entitled ‘Married to the Family’ enunciates African values and peculiarities as they relate to the institution of marriage. In Africa, a marriage goes beyond the two individuals involved and extends to the families of the couple.

In a statement, Globacom said: “The tensions in many homes today are caused by the African man’s concept of marriage and its requirements. Africa’s world view about marriage, is no doubt fantastic. However, there are some inherent excesses in the world and these excesses are to a greater extent, inimical to the peace in many homes. The roles of in-laws in making or marring homes cannot be wished away. This is why every individual desirous of a tensionfree home should book a date with Married to the Family.”

Globacom said the episode highlights the pitfalls in Africans’ view of “what the institution of marriage is and how to avoid making ‘our wife syndrome’ become our slave reality”.

The episode offers Professor Johnbull, acted by the Nollywood veteran, Kanayo O. Kanayo, an opportunity to define a healthy marriage while adjudicating on the issues of in-laws’ interference in the marriages of his neighbours.

The fresh episode features Nollywood star, Kenneth Okonkwo (Chijioke in the episode) and a youth influencer, Dominic Elujiofo, aka Jay Kolo, who invented the alingo dance steps in the nation’s music industry.

The regulars, such as Olaniyi (Yomi Fash-Lanso) and Etuk (Imeh Bishop), also feature in the new episode.

The episode will provide answers to some questions, such as what spouses can do about depressing demands from inlaws and whether there is any merit in a spouse seeking to please in-laws at the expense of family peace.

The new episode of Professor Johnbull will air on Tuesday at 8.30 p.m. on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes on Tuesday with a repeat broadcast on the same channels on Friday also at 8.30 p.m.
