The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Muhammed Bello, has announced that all 14 hospitals within and around the territory are fully equipped with needed infrastructure to cater for all health-related challenges including that of women and children. Also, the administration is set to revamp the health sector within the territory by building new hospitals to add to the already existing ones and to renovate the existing ones in order to meet the yearnings of the people.

Bello disclosed this in Abuja when he declared open the formal operations of Limi Children’s Hospital. He said children were gifts from God and must be treated passionately and compassionately.

Bello who was represented by Barr. Amanda Pam of the Health and H uman Services Secretariat in the FCT, said the commissioning of the hospital with the state of the art facility at this time in the history of the country is commendable and a giant stride.

He said: “On assumption of office, I have embarked upon fact finding visit to all the 14 FCT hospitals with a view to acquainting myself with their challenges for quick responses and solutions. I am happy to announce that all our hospitals are fully equipped to handle all health-related cases including those of women and children in the FCT.

“Very soon, we shall embark on the building of new hospitals and renovation of the existing ones in order to meet the yearning and aspiration of our people.”

The Chairman and CEO of the Limi Group, Dr. (Mrs.) Remilekun Iseko, in her speech, said the vision which started in 1982 and now has a children’s hospital is set out to meet world-class medical care. She said the children’s hospital would be run with focus on healthcare in children as they must be individualised.

For the affordability of the hospitals services, Iseko said it was open to all with emphasis on empathy, compassion. She called on young people aspiring to own hospitals to have a well-thought out plan on what they want to achieve with emphasis on specialisation and above all, the God-factor.
