Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday adjoured trial of former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olisa Metuh till January, 22, 2018.

The judge adjourned the trial after the ninth defense witness gave his evidence in court yesterday.

Metuh is standing trial on alleged diversion of N400m from the office of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki (retired).

At the resumed trial yesterday, counsel to the 1st defendant, Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), presented another defense witness - Director of News, Africa Independent Television (AIT), Mr. Adebayo Bodurin.

The wireness informed the court that the sum of N7,492,250.00 was paid to the station AIT for the purpose of advertisement for PDP.

He added that the money formed part of several other sums paid for public sensitisation on the activities of PDP.

According to Bodurin, the money was collected for AIT through Metuh’s media aide, Mr. Richard Ihediwa.

Metuh, through his counsel, Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), had asked the court to adjourn until former President Goodluck Jonathan is served with a court order to appear as a defence witness in the trial.

Justice Abang however refused to grant the application on the ground that Metuh was at liberty to begin the process for the service of a subpoena on Mr. Jonathan through substituted means.
