- Peter Uzoho

One of the world’s leading health and hygiene products manufacturing company in Nigeria, Reckitt Benckiser, has reaffirmed its resolve towards contributing to the growth of the Nigerian economy.

The General Manger, RB West Africa, Mr. Rahul Murgai, stated this during the inauguration of the company’s Warehouse in Agbara, Ogun State recently. He stressed that the vision of the organisation was to provide their customers with innovative products and solutions for healthier lives and happier homes.

According to him, having been in Nigeria for over 50 years, the company was happy to invest in a scaled manufacturing facility in the state.

“RB remains deeply committed to Nigeria and Ogun State”, Murgai said.

“We see Nigeria as the epicentre of Africa’s growth and especially Ogun State as the gateway to Nigeria and Africa. Hence, we have invested N900 million in building a world class distribution centre

and logistical infrastructure,” he added.

Murgai noted that the company whose brands cut across consumer goods such as Dettol, Mortein, Harpic, Airwick, Durex, Garviscon, among others, believed such infrastructural investment would boost its operations.

“And all these efforts should create more jobs to help grow state and federal economy,” he added.

In his remark, Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibukunle Amosun whocommissioned the project, commended the company for constructing the facility, saying it demonstrated the organisation’s belief in his administration as a worthy partner and a further confirmation of the state as a preferred investment destination in Nigeria.

He stated that the decision of the company to leverage on the advantages in Ogun by scaling up its investment in the state was a step towards cementing its status as one of the leading manufacturer of consumables operating from the state.

“It is especially commendable because it is in tandem with one vital plank of our five cardinal programmes which seeks to drive the

industrialisation process in our state. We are more particularly delighted that the coming on board of the warehouse operations will further add as a boost to the efforts of our administration towards employment generation,” Amosun said.
