El-Rufai Reshuffles Cabinet
The Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has reshuffled his cabinet Spokesman of the governor, Samuel Aruwan explained in a statement yesterday evening that the changes were as a result of the vacancy created by the death of the late Prof. Andrew Nok who served as the commissioner for education, science and technology.
Nok passed on in December last year following an illness. The exercise led to the dropping of a commissioner and the appointments of two new ones.
The appointees, according to the statement, include Mrs. Ruth Geoffrey Alkali for the ministry of commerce, Industry and Tourism and Dr. Ibrahim Hamza, the pioneer Director-General of the Kaduna Facility Management Agency (KADFAMA), for the ministry of water resources .
Others who were assigned new portfolios include, Dr. Manzo Maigari who moves from the ministry of commerce, industry and tourism to the ministry of agriculture and forestry while Prof. Kabir Mato was moved from the ministry of agriculture and forestry to the ministry for Local government and chieftaincy affairs.
Similarly, Ja’afaru Sani, was moved from the ministry for local government to the ministry of education , science and technology while Balaraba AliyuInuwa moves from the ministry of rural and community development to the ministry of works , housing and transport. Hassan Usman Mahmud from the ministry of works , housing and transport was reassigned. To the ministry of rural and community development.
Alhaji Shehu Balarabe, Commissioner for Stakeholder Relations in the Governor’s Office, is was also reassigned as a commissioner in the Fiscal Responsibility Commission.
However, Umma Hikima of the ministry of justice, Suleiman Abdu Kwari, ministry of finance, Dr. Paul Dogo, Ministry of Health and Human Services and Muhammed Sani Abdullahi of the ministry of Planning and Budget Commission retained their portfolios.
