Rochas Foundation Old Students Rescue Indigent Member With N1m, Holds South-west Confab

Old students of Rochas Foundation Colleges weekend, has rallied support for one of their members, Ochiaga Chinonso, with one million naira to help boost her fledgling poultry business.

The amount, which was announced by the Director General of Rochas Foundation, Mrs. Uloma Rochas Nwosu, on behalf of the Rochas Foundation Old Students Association (ROFOSA) took many by surprise as it was totally unexpected, prompting demand by other members for financial assistance to help boost their businesses.

Mrs. Nwosu’s announcement took place at the South-east Conference of ROFOSA which held in Owerri weekend, attracting members of the association from the five states in the zone with the theme “Reach, Leap Today” and had several motivational speakers in attendance.

Miss Ochiaga had attracted attention during an interactive session at the conference when she told participants that she was surviving on a 50 bird poultry business worth N105,000 with N25,000 profit every three months, making it difficult to meet her basic needs.

Moved by her sincerity, the ROFOSA President, Adamu Suleiman, and his executives, consulted with the DirectorGeneral and other directors at the conference after which it was agreed that the sum of one million be made available to help boost Ochiaga’s business, but on the condition that 35 per cent of profit made is paid back to the association.

In his remarks, the president thanked the DG and other directors for accepting the plea of his executives for Ochiaga to be assisted and expressed the hope that members of the association would continue to imbibe the passion for giving as espoused by the Founder, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

Hon. Lisa Asugha, Director of the foundation in charge of ROFOSA later told participants of the Southwest Conference taking place in Lagos on Thursday, January 25, 2018 and advised all old students in the affected zone to troop out en masse for the event.
