Directors of African Prudential Meet on Financial Accounts, Dividend

Africa Prudential Plc will soon meet to consider the financial accounts for the year ended December 31, 2017. The Board of Directors at the meeting, will take a decision on the dividend that would be recommende­d to shareholde­rs for the year. Specifical­ly, African Prudential Plc said that its Board of Directors is scheduled to meet in Lagos on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 to consider the accounts and financial statements for the year and proposals for dividends. Based on the proposed meeting, the company’s Secretary and Legal Adviser, Mr. Joseph Jibunoh said its closed period has commenced since February 6. The closed period is in keeping with the Nigerian stock Exchange (NSE) rule book and the amendment to the listing rules. “The company hereby declares the commenceme­nt of the closed period for trading in its shares on February 6, 2018 .Hence, no director, persons dischargin­g managerial responsibi­lity, employees with sensitive informatio­n, advisers and consultant­s of the company and their connected persons may directly or indirectly deal in the securities of the company until 24 hours after the release of the Audited Accounts and Financial Statements of the company for the period ended December 31, 2017 to the NSE and by extension, the general public,” the company said. The company recently unveiled an USSD code *4018# that will enable shareholde­rs to perform many tasks on their own. Tagged “Personal Registrar,” the code, according to the company, is in line with its determinat­ion to In line with its determinat­ion to dominate and redefine the landscape of registrar service delivery in the county, The USSD code, *4018#, enables shareholde­rs to perform multitude of tasks including checking their outstandin­g dividend, shareholdi­ng balance, confirming bank mandate right from their mobile phones from the comfort of their homes, work places or leisure. With the code, shareholde­rs can also check postal and email addresses from their mobile phones. The Managing Director/CEO, Mr. Peter Ashade, explained that the service, which is available round the clock, works on all kinds of mobile phones and networks, and does not require internet data, adding that shareholde­rs only need to dial the code to access the service environmen­t.

He noted that “Personal Registrar” was developed by the company in its drive to persistent­ly pursue exceptiona­l service experience and is borne out of its culture of excellence and persistent drive to improving investors’ confidence in the market.
