Rwand Air Plans Flights to Abuja, Bamako, Others

The national airline of Rwand Air, plans to launch flights from its hub in Kigali into Abuja; Nigeria’s capital, Bamako; the Malian capital, Conakry, the capital of Guinea and Cape Town in South Africa.

These routes, according to the airline, are part of its remaining route expansion destinatio­ns and growth drive for 2017/2018 financial year.

Apart from the expansion plan for its operations in Africa, Rwand Air is also determined to expand its flights into New York, in the United States and the long awaited flights into Guangzhou in China, Asia.

Speaking in an interview, Rwand Air Country Manager in Nigeria, Ms. Ibiyemi Odusi said the airline would continue to offer uninterrup­ted seam- less air services on its many routes with improvemen­ts on its products on all fronts.

She said the airline is committed to offering Nigerian market competitiv­e fares, generous baggage allowance and seamless uninterrup­ted connection­s to destinatio­ns within Africa, Middle East and Europe.

Odusi said: “Abuja will soon be active together with Bamako, Yaounde, Conakry, Cape Town (South Africa), New York and of course the long awaited Guangzhou in China.

“We are the fastest growing airline in Africa today. Our fleet of 12 aircrafts is composed of Airbus A3330-300 and A330200 et al. We will continue to consolidat­e on this to enable us feed our routes seamlessly with adequate schedule planning. By the end of this financial year, we will be looking at 31 destinatio­ns in the whole network,” Odunsi said.

Meanwhile, the Rwand Air Country Manager said the airline has concluded plans to host trade and corporate partners, for their contributi­ons in the present financial year, adding that this has since been a tradition with the airline.

According to Odusi, the programme is drawn up to appreciate partners for their support for the airline. It is necessary to appreciate them and also update them on new products/services.

“The trade and corporate are strong partners who have been with and made us the airline of obvious choice and we wish to re-assure customers that we will continue to provide unsurpasse­d, safe and reliable services linking Rwanda with the outside world, which is actually our vision,” she added.
