Alhudahuda College Zaria Wins Kaduna Trade Fair Quiz Competition

First Western style school in Northern Nigeria, Alhudahuda College Zaria, has emerged winner of the 7th edition of the Kaduna International Trade Fair quiz competition.
With 150 points on aggregate, the all – boys school represented by Aliyu Muhammad and Nurudeen Muhammad clinched the first position
Monday at the Kaduna International Trade and Investment Centre. Over 15 senior secondary schools participated in the preliminary written test that saw four best performing schools into the final quiz contest.
Nigeria Tulip International School came second with 144 points; Government Secondary School Kawo took the third position leaving Brain Trust International School in the 4th.
Exclusively a science quiz, the final show done in two rounds fielded eight subjects including Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics,
Geography, Computer Sciences, English Language and Current Affairs.
The competition is one of the flagship events featured annually at the trade fair to encourage the participants to have the spirit of competition in their academic pursuit.
Speaking at the event, Kaduna State Commis- sioner for Education, Mr. Ja’afaru Sani represented at the event by the Assistant Director, Female Education, Mrs. Esther Danjuma Kayock, urged the students to take advantage of the programme as a veritable platform to test their ability to compete.
He assured the students of government’s concern about their education and urged them to make the state proud by performing excellently in their academic works.
Sani also advised the female amongst them not to give in to any pressure that tries to make them lose interest in education, stressing that with their excellent academic performance, such pressure would be suppressed.
In his excitement, one of the two representatives of the winning team, Aliyu Muhammad, said: “I feel very happy seeing our school emerge winners in this competition. It has been my dream and the dream of my school to win in this quiz competition and that dream has been actualised.”
He dedicated their victory to teachers in their school who he said contributed in no small measure to their achievement, and commended the organisers of the quiz – Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry,
Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), for having their interest in mind.
