Community Holds Economic Summit
The 2018 edition of Aramoko Socio-Economic Summit, will hold this Saturday, a statement issued in Lagos and signed by the convener of the summit, Mr. Akin Oluwadare Jnr. has stated. The theme of the summit is; ‘Human Empowerment as Catalyst for Sustainable Development.’ According to the statement, the summit, which is in its 3rdedition, was initiated in 2012 to galvanise entrepreneurial spirit among indigenes of the community as well as boosting human capital development to enhance enduring and sustainable development. ‘’We tie our objective to the popular belief that human capital development is the joker for an enduring and sustainable development that Nigeria needs if truly we are projected to have the third largest population in the world by 2050 after China and India. That Nigeria has infrastructural deficit upon which economic development can rest is not in doubt, the hunger for an industrialised economy as an exit route from poverty is not in contention but any physical development that ignores the human factor is a quick fix solution to a problem deeply rooted’’ According to Oluwadare, his group decided in the year 2012 to take the bigger picture home and intervened in the area of education and entrepreneurship. The statement further stated that the event will hold at Aramoko Ekiti Civic Center under the chairmanship of a former Head of Service of Ekiti State, Mr. Femi Adewumi, while Professor Ayo Olajuyigbe of Federal University of Technology, Akure, will serve as moderator.
