As part of efforts to improve medical health insurance in the country, Glanville Enthoven Insurance Brokers and Pensions Consultants Limited in partnership with Clearline HMO, has launched Flexicare.

Speaking at the official launch of flexicare in Lagos on Wednesday, the Managing Director, Glanville Enthoven, Mr. Supo Falana, said that the introduction of the product was sequel to the gap in the market, adding that the the product is slight different from the traditional health care services that are provided by other health providers.

He also stated that findings revealed that most medical insurances in the market don’t cover accident cases as a result they decided to add medical insurance in partnership with Clearline HMO.

According to Falana, Flexicare covers accident and medical insurance cases, stating that accident covers permanent disability, temporary disability, loss of income, which he noted are not conventional HMO medical insurance.

He explained: “We have realised this niche and we are trying to market this product to individuals, employees of organisations and multinationals to provide this type of cover to them.”

Falana stressed: “We realised a gap in the market. What we found out is that most medical insurances we have in the market don’t cover accident cases because of that we decided to add medical insurance in partnership with clearline Alliance HMO. Then we designed a personal accident insurance with some insurance companies in the market especially First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) and NICON insurance Plc combined together to provide services in that area of gap we have seen.

“The gap is that most medical insurances provided by organisations for their employees don’t cover accident cases. There is a lot of gap in the health sector and government has not done enough in the area of primary health and as a result, people are dying. Therefore the product has been made affordable to ensure that people make use of it. Every stakeholder must play a role in marketing the product.”

He explained that the partnership at the moment is between Glanville and Clearline HMO, stressing that clearline is the foremost indigenous HMO in the country with a proven track record and wide acceptance.

Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Director, HMO Clearline, Kolawole Oladapo, said that the partnership provides an opportunity to give Nigerians good health. According to him, health insurance is the way to go thus the commitment to ensuring that Nigerians enjoy good health.
