Kogi CJ Swears-in Two Appointed Notaries Public
The Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajanah, recently swore-in two newly appointed Notaries Public, namely Mr. Babatunde Raphael Bello and Mr Usman Joshua Enamali, respectively.
The Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajanah after swearing them in at the State High Court in Lokoja, charged them to use the position to meet the challenges of the problems of justice, for the benefit of the people of Kogi State.
The Chief Judge, who pointed out that the appointments are an acknowledgement of the calibre of legal practitioners in the State, noted that the honesty, dedication to duty, candour and the belief in the rule of law exhibited by Mr Bello and Mr Enamali, has brought the well merited appointment.
According to him "You will realise that acknowledgement of this nature, comes with concomitant obligations. You are constantly in the public glare.
"As an officer of the Supreme Court, and in accordance with the Notary Public Act, you are imbued with some powers and responsibilities. You are to exempt yourself from acting in matters which you have interest in, and in other cases, you are to perform your responsibilities with utmost good faith".
While charging them to comply with the provisions of the Second Schedule of Notary Public Act, the Chief Judge warned them not to use the appointment for the purpose of mischief or fanning the embers of political sentiment.
