Me­dia Agency Wins Awards


One of the coun­try’s lead­ing mar­ket­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tions agency, SO&U said it won big at the African Cristal fes­ti­val award which held in Mar­rakech, Morocco, re­cently with its Mother’s Day ad that went vi­ral in March 2018 The campaign, which pro­filed Nige­rian moth­ers and their “se­cret weapons,” recorded over two mil­lion shares across so­cial me­dia with zero pro­mo­tion and was ar­guably one of the most suc­cess­ful brand campaign ever in Nige­ria based on or­ganic growth. Clearly, it also res­onated with the in­ter­na­tional jury of pro­fes­sion­als at the event as it won a Gold at the fes­ti­val. Ac­cord­ing to a state­ment, SO&U was the only Nige­rian agency to win in the African cul­ture cat­e­gory with the Mother’s Day ad­vert with its unique story telling on the im­por­tance of moth­ers in the African so­ci­ety and how their improvised rods of dis­ci­pline in­stilled or­der in the Nige­rian home and shaped fu­ture lead­ers within the cur­rent so­ci­ety. “With the award, SO&U con­tin­ues to main­tain its cre­ative edge amongst in­dus­try play­ers in Nige­ria and Africa at large as a lead­ing mar­ket­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tions agency with in-depth un­der­stand­ing of African cul­ture and pas­sion points in con­nect­ing emotions through cre­ative think­ing, which has been high­lighted over the years with its con­sis­tency in cre­ative out­puts which has shaped nar­ra­tives of sto­ry­telling within the coun­try,” it added. The African Cristal Fes­ti­val, is an an­nual event which stands as one of the big­gest re­gional sum­mits which fea­tures the best agen­cies and cre­ative work from across the con­ti­nent, pro­motes re­gional cul­tures and re­wards the best ad­ver­tis­ing cam­paigns cre­ated and broad­cast over the African con­ti­nent, on any me­dia.
