ADAMAWA FADAMA III AF AND THE POOR

-

The Adamawa Fadama 111 AF is impacting in the lives of the people through various forms. It is alleviating the poverty ravaging the people especially those who are in the hotbed of the activities of Boko Haram insurgency in places such as Madagali, Michika and neighbouring towns.

Recently, the Adamawa Fadama 111 AF under the state programme manager, Alhaji Mohammed Kabiru Bello has greatly touched the lives of the people by the introduction of programmes like rearing of sheep and goats, provision of insecticides and equipment for agricultural production as well as in-house training for those who are willing to engage in agricultural activities. Alhaji Bello and his able team are positively touching the lives of the people to be self-reliant and at the same time be productive and gainfully employed.

The team in Adamawa State has been tested and proved to be specialists in various agricultural field as well as people with expertise, who are working round the clock to achieve the aims and objective of the World Bank towards enhancing agricultural activities. The Fadama 111 AF has gone into partnership with a lot of organisations in its efforts to boosting massive agricultural activities in order to answer the call of the Buhari administration for people especially the youths to engage in farming.

One of the most important things done by the Fadama 111 AF in Adamawa State is the training in different aspects of agriculture organised for the benefit of the people.

Abdullahi Mohammed, who has benefited from the programme of rearing of domesticated animals like sheep described Fadama 111 AF as best for the country.

The role being played by Fadama in Adamawa State cannot be over emphassied for the fact that successes cannot be made without the cooperation of the management and the programme manager who is a great agriculturist and so committed to achieving the goals of the World Bank and the Adamawa State Government that is paying counterpart funding to deliver the core mandate. There is need for the for government to extend the tenure of Fadama 111 AF for another five years to impact more on the lives of the people of the state. Usman Santuraki, Jimeta-Yola
