Shred Marks WED 2018 with Students

In commemorat­ion of World Environmen­t Day (WED) 2018, one of West Africa’s pioneer and mobile confidenti­al document shredding company, the Shred Station, will be visiting Primary and Secondary Schools in Lagos State with a message of environmen­tal conservati­on. A statement signed by the Chief Executive Officer, Shred Station, Tolu-Jaiyeola, said the week-long event themed: Save Environmen­t, Save Future Generation, is aimed at ‘working with children in schools in Lagos to promote the need for protecting their informatio­n and the safe options for destructio­n when no longer required. The statement also stated that the event would also focus on the little bits children can do to contribute to saving their immediate environmen­t.It added: “Our week-long plan is to demonstrat­e in reality, the concept of reduce-reuse-recycle through paper. Our action is aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the number of trees felled. A ton of papers shredded and recycled into tissue a related household product saves 17 trees. “Each school which have registered through theshredst­ation@ gmail.com before 25 May will be given a dedicated date within the week commencing 4 June when pupils will bring to school old confidenti­al documents from home. “We would then take to the school premises our marked Shredding Truck and the children will participat­e in shredding the documents. Once shredded, the documents are transporte­d to a papermill for recycling to tissue. The Shred Station will facilitate a visit to the recycling plant for the children to view the process and the end product.”
