A resident, Emma Uka, said he was worried at the rate about three fighter jets have been flying around Enugu since Monday, noting that rather than concentrat­e their energy in the North-east where Boko Haram insurgents have been terrorisin­g the people, the jets were rather disturbing the peace of Enugu State.

Meanwhile, in a statement by the spokesman of Enugu Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, the police said the pro-Biafra agitators were arrested by the commands operatives around Obiagu/ Afia Nine axis of Ogui in Enugu State.

He advised residents to go about their lawful businesses without let or hindrance.

Amaraizu said the state Commission­er of Police, Danmallam Mohammed had “warned against any act or omission by any individual or group of persons under any guise capable of disrupting the existing peace in the state.”

He said the police commission­er warned that anybody or group of persons caught will be made to face the full weight of the law in accordance with the relevant sections of the law.

He said nobody should disturb public peace under the aegis of MASSOB/BIM and explained that the arrest was done within Enugu metropolis.

The PPRO said the police commission­er however used the opportunit­y to advise members of the public to be law abiding and go about their normal lawful businesses without fear of any intimidati­on or molestatio­n as the commands operatives working in partnershi­p with sister security agencies as well as relevant stake holders in the state will not condole any act or omission capable of disrupting the existing peace in the state under any guise.
