ADVAN to Host Chief Marketing and Communications Officers
The Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) has announced that it will be hosting its unique leadership forum for Heads of Marketing and Communications in Nigeria. The forum which has a theme ‘’The Chief Marketing and Communications Officer as the CEO’’ comes up on the 7th of June at the Eko Signature, Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The forum will afford the opportunity for Heads of Marketing and Communications of various organisations to listen, discuss and chat a new way for the marketing and communications business and its players in Nigeria under a relaxed atmosphere. The Guest Speaker for the day is a seasoned Human Resource Consultant in person of Mr Victor Adenrele, the Chief Executive Officer of Omari Consulting Services Limited.
Announcing this forum in Lagos, Folake Ani-Mumuney, President of ADVAN stated that the ADVAN Chief Marketing and Communications Officers’ Forum is an exclusive event meant only for Heads of Marketing and Communications of each organization. These include Marketing Communications Directors, Marketing Directors, General Managers - Marketing and Communications, General Managers - Marketing as it relates to each organization.
In her words, ‘’the forum was birthed out of a need to provide the nation’s marketing and communications leaders with a platform to better navigate the fast-changing marketing communications landscape as well as provide insights on the changes local and multinational marketing and communications leaders need to make in order to effectively deliver profitable brand growth as they equally grow in their chosen career’’.
In this same vein, Abiona Babarinde, the Chairperson of the organising committee stated that this year’s edition focuses more on the career path of these professionals as it relates to getting to the pinnacle of their careers in the various organisations where they work. According to Abiona, ‘’ the organising committee carefully selected this topic to address certain career – oriented issues as it relates to the marketing and communications players equipping ourselves for the peak of our career and ultimately create and deliver the expected value for our organisations’’. Aside from the Guest Speaker who is going to deliver a paper on the chosen topic, the committee has equally successfully identified few industry players with pedigree as panel of discussants to deliberate on the topic by sharing their individual experiences with the expected audience for the day.

It was founded over twenty five years ago, to advocate the interest of the marketing industry in Nigeria by spearheading and ensuring global best practices as well as facilitating collaborative partnerships with relevant stakeholders. The Association is a member of the World Federation of Advertisers (WfA), a body of marketing associations in over 55 countries of the world and it is also represented on the Executive Council of WFA.
