Inauspicious Andy Ubah!

-

When you mention the name Senator Andy Ubah, what immediately comes to mind is the profile of a man who is not only wealthy but highly connected and powerful. In Anambra State where he hails from, Ubah, a former Special Assistant to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, is seen as a political heavyweight.

However, it is confounding that his dream to become the number one citizen of the state is always met with a kiss of death.

Sadly, his inability to clinch the number one job in the state has even made him a subject of ridicule in some quarters as many describe him as a paper tiger.

Ubah’s political baptism of fire started in 2007.

Not one to easily give up on his hope, Ubah has had to jump from one political party to the other to realise his ambition, all to no avail.

It will be recalled that he left his former political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in a bid to realise his dream in the November governorship election.

But the billionaire senator suffered another humiliation of his life when he lost the APC primary to a political rookie, Tony Nwoye.

His defeat shocked his friends who have since warned him to desist from his serial contests. But Ubah doesn’t seem to be bothered.

With his recent humiliation, many claim that his political clout may be on the precipice.
