SAINT WITH A GUN…HOW GBOLAHAN LAWAL BECAME A LONG-SERVING COMMISSION­ER IN LAGOS

The tang of money is sweet like nectar; the common procurer of tastes and species of woodland butterflie­s. Thus a chap with money attains the visage of a charmed man. Gbolahan Lawal has caught the money bug. His designatio­n and encounter with money functions for him as a procurer of people, plaudits and prestige just like it did for

his predecesso­rs in that ministry. There is money in the Housing Ministry, like his predecesso­rs, is making the most of it within the ambits of the law, due process and profession­al ethics. Now in and around Lagos, Gbolahan is renowned and respected for his deep pocket and la vida loca lifestyle. He was commission­ed as a Cadet Assistant Superinten­dent in the Nigeria Police Force. While in service he held several duty posts amongst which was as the aide-de-camp (ADC) to the one-time Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, between 2001 and 2007. He retired voluntaril­y from the police in 2008 as a superinten­dent of Police. He was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Special Projects to Governor Babatunde

Raji Fashola (SAN) between 2008 and 2011 and later served as a commission­er in the Ministry of Agricultur­e and Cooperativ­es under the Fashola administra­tion, between July 2011 and May 2015. He became the commission­er for Housing under Governor Ambode in 2015. Today, Gbolahan is millionair­e many times over. Gbolahan is a dude to treasure. His charm strikes the sight at first encounter but it is his merit that wins the soul of every fresh acquaintan­ce he makes.
