Keep Faith with APC, Dariye Tells Supporters from Kuje Prison

In spite of his travail in the prison, a former Governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau Central senatorial zone, Chief Joshua Chibi Dariye has urged his supporters to keep faith with the All Progressives Congress (APC)

Dariye is currently serving 14 years jail term in Kuje prison over his alleged mismanagement of N1.1 billion Ecological Fund when he was the governor of the state.

THISDAY gathered that following his travails, his supporters are considering defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since they felt that the APC-led government could not save him.

But a political associate of the former governor, who was also the Director General of Campaign Organisation and currently a stalwart of the APC, Chief Maichibi Vwarji has stated that the former governor has appealed to his supporters to remain in the APC.

“I am aware that some people are going round the state especially Plateau Central senatorial district claiming that they have the mandate of the former Governor, Joshua Dariye to ask all his followers to defect to the PDP. I want to categorically state that Senator Dariye has not given anyone such mandate.

“It is a mere rumour. I am in constant touch with him, I was with him recently and after I intimated him with the rumour, he mandated me and his other associates to go round the state and debunk the speculations and to tell them that they should all remain in All Progressive Congress.”

He explained that the present predicament of Senator Joshua Dariye was dated back to when he was the governor of the state, adding the present administration did not institute the suit against him.

“When I met him recently along with two other people, this issue was tabled before him. He strongly condemned the insinuation, and noted that the present administration is not responsible for his predicament. He therefore asked us to enlighten his followers to remain in APC.
