LONDON-BASED SOLICITOR, SEYI CLEMENT’S BIG DREAM

-

In Nigeria’s politics today, it is not an exaggeration to say that many elected public officers are suffering from sit-tight syndrome.

It is a fact that such attitude, which has become a permanent feature of our body politic, has always bred complacency, a sense of entitlement, lack of transparency and lack of accountability.

The effect is that many constituencies

today lack good leadership.

However, it is heart-warming that some young politicians are determined to change the narrative. One of them is London-based solicitor, Seyi Clement, who has a big dream to rescue his constituency, Surulere Federal Constituency, from bad representation.

The deeply grass-roots politician and youthful lawyer is gradually inching up in other spheres that will further advance his ambition. He has an extensive national and international experience in the area of law, healthcare and infrastructural development.

As a first-time candidate for elected office, he believes that his constituency needs a fresh impetus.

As a lawyer and public officeholder in the United Kingdom, he understands the importance of transparency and accountability. He has served in a public office in the UK for eight years, with a glowing record of delivering on promises and projects. He also chaired a public committee for two years, giving him the understanding of the importance of carrying people along with him and managing complex issues.

All these issues are close to his heart, regarding his constituency and Seyi is angling to project transparency, accountability and effective representation.

Humble Seyi may clinch the ticket if there is a level-playing field, even as he is believed to be the most-favoured among his co-aspirants.
