ANN Presidential Aspirant Mocks APC, PDP for High of Forms
Presidential Aspirant of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), Mr. Gbenga OlawepoHashim has decried the high cost of nomonation fees by the All Progressive Party (APC), and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) , describing it as counterproductive to democratic development.
According to him, “claims that the monies were contributed by other interest groups for some aspirants are also bogus, because they are most likely from government coffers. He aaid that one legitimate way of raising funds for political parties the world over is through membership dues. “And it is the reason why the ANN is following this path, as a party of new ideas, and as a party that is ready to bring in a new beginning.”He further said: “In ANN, our nomination fees are modest, and the average aspirant is not likely to imagine that he has paid for a license to deep his or her hands in the public till at the end of the day.”
Olawepo-Hashim who has since picked his ANN presidential nomination form said if voted into office in 2019, the ANN would immediately launch the New Economic Development Programme (NEDP), that would return Nigeria’s economy to the path of prosperity.
The Chairman of Oilworld, an oil exploration and Energy company, stated that the ANN will grow Nigeria’s GDP from the present $510billion to $4 trillion in 10 years. He said that with the NEDP, the Per Capital Income (PCI) of the average Nigerian will move between $16,000 to$18, 000 within ten yearsas well adding that Nigeria will then be at par with middle-incomecountries like Malaysia among others. Olawepo-Hashim also stated that the NEDP would attract an estimated $2trillion to infrastructure sector within ten years adding that theprogramme would create jobs from manufacturing, industrialisation aswell as link up industries with solid minerals and agriculturalsector.
On 2019, he stated that the ANN believes that President MuhammaduBuhari has attained the peak of his capacity, adding that the partywould help give him a befitting retirement. He said: “I respect President Muhammadu Buhari as a father. I will not insult him But the truth is,President Buhari needs to go and rest. ANN is practically prepared togive him a befitting rest.”I am therefore better placed to bring the country back together andmost assured that I can get the job done given my record ofaccomplishment. I will restructure the economy from a dependent one toa self-reliant one, by investing in iron and steel, research anddevelopment, and in other critical sectors of the economy.”National Chairman of the party, Pastor Emmanuel Dania, who receivedOlawepo and his supporters said that the ANN was coming to deliverNigeria. “We are coming to deliver to Nigerians a New Nigeria,” hesaid. He assured Nigerians that the party would not engage in act ofvote-buying which he said was becoming the order of the day atelections.According to him, the ANN was bringing a new face into the politics of Nigeria.
