Akinwunmi Ambode –Remain Calm

- kilo le to ye Egbon mi.

They say you don’t take calls, that one is true sha. Ever since that we your supporters in Shomolu have been trying to reach you, we have not been able but we understand the kind of pressure you are going thru at the moment and have been sending Niyi Saliu and Wale Oluwo to you. I hope they have been delivering our message of support. I am sure that by the time you read this all the wahala would have been over and the blueprint merchants would have had their way. Although this is a sad commentary of our time and the kinds of leaders we parade who cloak themselves with the stained coat of democracy but remain more despotic than the very worst of military dictators. We remain comforted by the fact that history will always have the last say. My lord, you have tried, you have shown enough boldness . You should have faced your godfather, squarely taken him on frontally and dare him to show his face. You should have also taken the opportunity of Dele Momodu’s questions to further hit at the democratic credentials of those who own Lagos. But alas you did not. Anyways, no problem you have fought the good battle and in our books you remain a good soldier. No matter what, Lagos has been better for it so do not worry yourself. Your legacy is assured. Even those who ganged up against you agreed that their anger was not about your non-performance. You are the winner in this fight. History will treat you well. Your three and half years in office surpassed their 16 years combined. Come let’s go have a beer –
