Love Idoko’s Activate Success Foundation, Partners NYSC
AAfter the successful completion of the Youth Entrepreneurship Empowerment Programme (YEEP) where many participants won financial grants from Love Idoko's Activate Success team, FCMB and some facilitators. The winners who have been waiting for the official presentation of their cheques can finally smile to the bank as the official presentation was done at the NYSC secretariat on Thursday, October 11.
YEEP is an initiative of Love Idoko’s Activate success international foundation (ASIF) in conjunction with FCMB with the sole aim of giving corpers not just the opportunity to learn but to empower selected corp members with startup funds.
YEEP featured some of the brightest minds in different industry. Some of whom made financial commitments to some of the participants as well. Commitments that have now been honoured at the official financial grant presentation. Desmond Elliot (Nollywood Actor & member Lagos state House of Assembly), Seyi Adekunle (M.D Vodi Tailors) and Samson Itodo (Executive Director YIAGA AFRICA) are few of the facilitators at the event.
Beyond the grants from FCMB, Mr Seyi Adekunle, CEO, VODI supported 12 Corp Members with N1,200,000, Mr Samson Itodo, Executive Director, YIAGA Africa supported 10 Corp Members with N500,000 and Honorable Desmond Elliot supported 4 Corp Members with N200, 000.
A total of N3 million was given to 32 business minded corpers who have proven themselves worthy of the money through their ideas and compelling appeal.
The convener, Love Idoko expressed her joy and excitement at being finally able to present the grants to the winners since the event.
“Since the event, we have been trying to find the appropriate day for this presentation. I'm glad it has finally happened. There are lots of youths out there who needs just a little push of empowerment motivation and I feel fulfilled knowing that I can make an impact in such people’s lives.
"I also want to seize the opportunity to thank the Director General of the NYSC, all the Directors and Deputy Directors and staff of NYSC who were present at the presentation.
"To all our sponsors, facilitators and guests, we are really grateful for their consistent support. It has been an honour to partner with you to make the dreams of these young ones a reality," she said.
Winners of the grants were also full of excitement and promised to utilise the grant purposefully and profitably. The whole YEEP event was in partnership with FCMB, NYSC, and INTELIA.
