Commercial Bus Driver Nabbed for Defiling Minor

A commercial bus driver, Sola Ewulo, has been arrested for allegedly his neighbour's two- year- old daughter ( name withheld).

According to the police, the suspect took advantage of the absence of the victim's mother to commit the said offence.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, who paraded the suspect at the command headquarters in Ikeja said the suspect was arrested at his residence along Taiwo Street, Agbado Ijaiye.

Edgal said the mother of the victim on the said date left her with the suspect and dashed to the neighborhood to buy some provisions.

He said: "When the mother returned, a couple of minutes later, she couldn't find her daughter and the man she left her with.

"She however later found the victim on the corridor of the house scratching her private parts and she complained about the pains she was experiencing.

"On closer examination, the mother revealed that she saw some whitish substances dripping from the victim's private part and raised an alarm.

"The suspect has been questioned in respect of the incident at the gender unit and he will be charged to court as soon as doctors turn in their report."

The CP however charged parents and guardian to know who they commit the care of their children to, especially the under- aged children.

According to him, cases of defilement in the society was becoming rampant and worrisome.
