Ebony Hos­pi­tals’ DCMD, Dr Linda Ek­wen’s In­ter­na­tional Recog­ni­tion

To­day, her name rings very loud as a med­i­cal prac­ti­tioner. Her forte is in ob­stet­rics and gy­ne­col­ogy. In­ter­est­ingly, Dr. Linda Chris­tianah Ek­wem, Deputy Chief Med­i­cal Di­rec­tor, Ebony Hos­pi­tals Lim­ited, Port Har­court, Rivers State, has done a lot in the area of women health; and she has won nu­mer­ous awards for her ef­forts at home and abroad.

Quite com­mend­ably, her pro­file re­cently re­ceived a ma­jor boost when the pres­ti­gious Royal Col­lege of Ob­stet­rics and Gy­ne­col­ogy, United King­dom and Ire­land, RCOG, hon­oured her for her works in the area of preg­nancy, par­tic­u­larly from pre-con­cep­tion to post-preg­nancy.

It was a mo­ment of great joy for Dr. Ek­wem and her dar­ling hus­band and part­ner, Dr. In­no­cent Chi Ek­wem, when she was re­cently hon­oured with the pres­ti­gious Fel­low­ship of the Royal Col­lege in London.

At the event held at the Royal Col­lege Hall in Re­gent Park, London, Dr. Ek­wem was pre­sented with the Cer­tifi­cate of Awards by Prof. Les­ley Re­gan, Pres­i­dent of the RCOG, who is also the Head of Depart­ment of Ob­stet­rics and Gy­ne­col­ogy of Im­pe­rial Col­lege Health­care NHS Trust London.

The award of the fel­low­ship is a mark of se­nior sta­tus that im­plies a con­tin­ued con­tri­bu­tion to the spe­cialty of Ob­stet­rics and Gy­ne­col­ogy and the main­te­nance of stan­dards and prac­tice.

Dr. Linda Ek­wem and her hubby are two talented doc­tors whose 50-bed Ebony Hospi­tal re­mains one of the best re­fer­ral hos­pi­tals near the shores of the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean in Port Har­court, River State.

Among the peo­ple who wit­nessed the great mo­ment were her hus­band, Dr. I.C. Ek­wem and their chil­dren, Dr. Melvin Chibuzo Ek­wem, Dr. Yvonne Ezinne Ek­wem, Mr. Ugonna Cliff Ek­wem, Mr. Trevor Okechukwu Okonya and her brother, Regi­nald Ihe­ji­ahi, for­mer MD/CEO, Fi­delity Bank Plc
