Honour across the Ocean…Dr Louis Ekere Bags Lifetime Achievement Award From President Donald Trump
Without much ado, preeminent Nigerian businessman and Chief Executive Officer, Homeland Integrated Offshore Services, Dr Louis Ekere personifies the famous quote of Vince Lombardi that “Winning is not a sometime thing; it’s an all the time thing. You don’t win once in a while; you don’t do things right once in a while; you do them right all of the time. Winning is a habit.” Barely four months ago, precisely in November 2018, Dr Ekere was conferred with an honorary doctorate from Trinity International University of Ambassadors and also graduated from Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts. The award is conferred on individuals deemed worthy, and who have great experience, knowledge and impact, doing great work at home and abroad.
He is starting the year on a winning note again.
April 15, Dr Ekere was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award by President Donald Trump of the United States of America. Representatives of the American president were on hand to present him with the coveted medal and certificate. The award was bestowed upon Ekere because he “serves as a model of the American spirit and his many hours of service have strengthened the bonds of cooperation and trust that bring people together while helping to address some of the greatest challenges of our time.”
Famed for his compassion, selflessness and love for humanity, Dr Ekere is a giver without measure and whose philanthropic activities include among others, the free medical testing on World Hepatitis Day, free medical outreach in Lagos and environs where residents were screened for chronic lifestyle diseases including diabetes, hypertension and obesity.
He has offered free high-end radiologic and pathology investigations including MRI and CT scan, hitherto unaffordable to indigent patients of public hospitals including Massey Street Children’s Hospital, General Hospital, Lagos and Epe General Hospital. He has employed and sponsored indigenes of host communities where Homeland IOS Ltd operates amongst several other activities.
He recently opened the multibillion naira WellMed Healthcare Ltd, an indigenous healthcare company in Lagos that offers one-stop diagnostic solution services with state-of-theart medical equipment including 1.5 Tesla MRI, 64-slice CT Scan, 4D Ultrasonography, fully digital X-ray, 3D Echocardiography, Resting and Exercise ECG and fully automated pathology laboratory with a menu of over 3,000 tests.
