Who Is After Nasiru Danu?

-

Nothing sums up the moment when former Afromedia supremo Akin Olopade first crossed paths with Kwara-born former darling of high society, Muhammed Gobir, better than the immortal quotes of Charles Dickens. It was the best of times that also turned out to be the worst of times. It was the age of wisdom. It was the age of foolishness, It was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light. It was the season of darkness. It was the spring of hope. It was the winter of despair.

Just ask both parties. It was a moment that promised much but delivered little. When they met, both were at the zenith of their public profile, cresting waves of recent accomplishments that had elevated them to the status of recognizable faces. While Olopade held forth as the innovator-in-chief at outdoor advertising agency Afromedia, Gobir was coming into his own as consummate businessman and mainstay of the social scene.

Yet a friendship that threatened to blossom into a beautiful flower for the ages eventually withered and died, sunstarved and unwatered. Olopade and Gobir were on great terms with each other before things fell apart, never to be patched together again, like the fragments of a broken eggshell.

The duo can still recall, in those quiet moments of dreamlike contemplation, how they laughed and dared together, planned and erected grand visions of domination. Sadly, all lies crumbled to dust, victims of the hammer of untrustworthy dealings. Gobir, in his bequeathed position as chairman, Business Development, of Afromedia, allegedly mismanaged a huge amount of company funds running into billions of Naira.

Even a mild-mannered mother hen will fight to the death to protect her young from being carried off by any bird of prey. In the same vein, the most sedate of men can transform into a ferocious animal to protect his dignity, not to mention reputation, if it is being tarnished by a bunch of unscrupulous elements. Charming and suave Nasiru Haladu Danu, the Dan Amana Dutse, is not in the mood for hugs and jokes at the moment.

The soft-spoken northern businessman is apoplectic with rage at the conscienceless actions of some fortune-seeking jobbers who are using his sweatheart to fleece the unsuspecting public. We gathered that the unidentified group is hiding under his identity to milk his friends of money and favour.

The group’s modus operandi is to create Instagram pages using the pictures of the dude who got married to his heartthrob Amne Kam Salem a some years ago. They would then send messages to friends of the respected northern socialite claiming an urgent need.

Having being tipped off about the development which is dragging his precious name through the mud, Naladu has boldly informed the general public that he is not even on social media. Thus, he has urged everyone to disregard any message from anybody or social media account purporting to be him.

He has lodged a formal complaint on the matter and the state security agencies have cast a wide net and are closing in for the kill. Meanwhile, with his feathers ruffled a bit by the development, the man dubbed Buhari’s adopted son is not in happy mood.
