Corporate Amazon Tokunbo George-Taylor, Glows on Golden Jubilee
There are many languages in the world, but the most widely understood ones are power, love and money. Public relations guru, Tokunboh George-Taylor, understands the language of money and speaks the language of power fluently and effortlessly. Having mastered the language of love few years back with her marriage to foremost banker, Akin GeorgeTaylor, Tokunboh can be classed as a fulfilled woman.
All three languages were on display a few days back as the Managing Director of Hill+Knowlton Strategies Nigeria, a global public relations company headquartered in New York waltzed into her golden age. It was a case of a golden celebration for a golden girl as friends and family came together to raise their toasts to the successful woman who has etched her name on the sands of public relations history in Nigeria.
The thanksgiving service at Holy Trinity Church, Ikoyi was the appetizer before the main course of the grand reception where the invited guests were treated to a fun time. The classic but sedate event further underscored the qualities that endear Tokunboh to all who know her. Despite the lack of much noise, all the invited guests felt very welcome on the occasion. Tokunboh herself was on top of the world throughout as she happily lapped up the congratulations flooding her way.
The former Tokunbo Durosaro began her career at MNet/Multichoice as a PR practitioner in the 90s before going on to carve a stellar career that embraced and conquered challenging roles in several blue chip companies, both home and abroad. Her steps eventually led her to the oil giant Oando Plc where she rose to become a pioneer director of the Oando Foundation.
Her foray in the company which lasted for fourteen years netted her roles as heads of the company’s Corporate Services, Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility divisions. Few months after she tied the knot with her lover of many years Akin George-Taylor in 2015, Tokunboh established and has been heading Managing Director of Hill+Knowlton Strategies Nigeria.
