-

For one of the most glamorous society ladies and female politicians in Oyo State, Folake Olunloyo-Osinowo, it was party time few days back as she turned 50. Her Foreshore Estate, Ikoyi home came aglow as she and her popular socialite husband, Tunde Osinowo, otherwise known as TeddyShine hosted guests to a high octane shindig that will live long in the memory.

The Who’s Who of high society turned up at the Osinowos’ in many shades and hues of creative old school outfits for the vintagethemed dinner. It was an occasion that emphasized how grateful the beautiful politician was for the gift of life, friends and family; there were multiple sessions of praise, worship and prayer. From the moment one of her friends Mrs Adetoun Agbebi kicked things off with a prayer session, the celebrant could barely contain her happiness and gratitude as she made sure the guests were comfortable and lacked nothing.

On hand to witness the cakecutting were the likes of the monarch of Ikateland ba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Ovation publisher Dele Momodu, deputy governor of Ogun State Mrs Noimot Salako, Senator and Mrs Musiliu Obanikoro, Dr and Mrs Taiwo Afolabi, and Ayo Subair. Others were Chief and Mrs Dayo Adeneye, Deji and Jumoke Okoya- Thomas, Chief Bisi Olatilo, Mr and Mrs Taye Ayeni; Sijibomi Ogundele, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, and many others.

Top gospel sensation Ayan Jesu were on hand to dish out popular numbers that got the guests in their feet as good food quickly found its way from plate to mouth and wine flowed freely and applause and toasts resonated round the place. None louder than when her husband of many years Tunde took the floor and lavished the woman who means the world to him with so much endearment as she blushed with happiness.

Folake had been on a low-key since she lost her bid to return to the national assembly some years back. In 2007 she had won an election under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Ibadan SouthWest Federal Constituency at the House of Representative but couldn’t retain her seat in 2011. However, those who attended her 50th birthday shindig left convinced that the popular woman is able to make a splash whenever the need arises.
