Ekiti First Lady, Erelu Bisi Fayemi’s Memorable Moment

-

In 2017, Jamil Abubakar suddenly became a subject of interesting and robust discourses among the socially conscious members of the society. He even hit the cover of some magazines at that time. How?

Though he is known to be a socialite, Jamil, son of a former police boss, Mohammed Dikko Abubakar, gained more popularity when news broke that he married Fatima Dangote, daughter of Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, in a fairy- tale wedding, which held in Kano, Kaduna and Lagos, respectively.

Two years after, Fatima, who is also an executive director with Dangote Group, has constantly been in the media, for obvious reasons.

However, Jamil, a graduate of Computing Information Systems and Multimedia from the Kingston University, seems to have disappeared from the social circle, making many to wonder about his whereabouts.

What do you know about Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi, wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr. kayode Fayemi?

Are you interested in her because she is Ekiti State’s first lady? Or do you find her appealing only for her disarming humility or alluring simplicity?

No doubt, you will never get tired reading to find answers to all of the posers, if they were to be compiled in a book.

A deeper search into her life shows that she has cultivated a far-sighted career, in aspiration and in reality, as to what niche she must carve for herself as an educated young woman in a male-dominated social culture. She once confessed again that being the wife of a governor has made her stop thinking like she would have loved to. She is one lady who loves to research into intellectual works; though this she did a bit but her scope was limited to governance.

No wonder, she was recently bestowed a great honour of Zik Award 2018 for her leadership traits over the years.

Interestingly, a couple of people who made her guest list during her 56th birthday celebrations , last week, had the opportunity to be fed with some snippets about her, as a few of the invited reportedly shared their encounter with her during the low-key celebrations.

Erelu Fayemi, an avowed feminist, born in England, Liverpool, 56 years ago. She attended Abeokuta Girls’ Grammar School and Methodist High School, Lagos and later University of Ife( now Obafemi Awolowo University), where she bagged a degree and Master’s degree in History.

She later returned to the United Kingdom to earn another Master’s Degree from the University of Middlesex in Gender and Society.
