CUSTOMS – PLEASE NA!

-

I have just got reports that Customs officers now move into people’s homes and offices to seize cars that they feel were ‘smuggled’ in. Mbok, this can be very traumatic o. You can imagine after suffering to buy a car and then some people in faded uniform will just pounce on you and collect the car because it doesn’t have papers. I really do not know the terms of engagement of the customs people and as such will not lay too much blame on them. But I have also heard that after impounding the cars, they are later auctioned out some months later. Well, all these no really concern me because na like 20 years ago I buy my last car and if the economy continue like this be like say, I may not buy car again in this life but then again if something is not looking quite well, we must all come out and speak. My lord, remember when Senators where fighting you to wear uniform and you preferred to wear shorts to their hallowed chambers, I was among those who supported you o especially when we started seeing the kinds of figures you were throwing up as per revenue generation. I know you are a man of discipline and forthrightness, can you kindly look into this matter and let us have a peaceful resolution? In case you do not understand what I am trying to say, the question is , does the customs have right to burst into people’s homes fully armed to impound cars? I know know the answer that is why I dey ask o. Them send me, if this is yes. Don’t vex. It is just question. But if it is No – DO SOMETHING SIR. Thank you my brother.
